Boeing has postponed the first test flight of the 787 because it needs to reinforce a side-of-body section of the aircraft, with a new flight schedule not available for several weeks.

Boeing has postponed the first flight test of the 787 as it reinforces a section of the new aircraft, it said today.
The manufacturer said the setback to the long-awaited Dreamliner stemmed from the need to reinforce an area within the side-of-body section of the aircraft. The modification means both the first flight and first delivery will be postponed, with a new schedule not available for several weeks.
Boeing said that although initial examinations had given the all-clear for the flight test to proceed as planned this month, further testing resulted in a decision...
