American Airlines will tap the capital markets

Following Continental’s EETC and United’s secured bond, American Airlines will go to the capital markets to raise capital

American Airlines will launch a $520 million secured bond in July. The enhanced equipment trust certificates (EETC) will refinance 16 aircraft and provide funding for four widebodies delivering in 2009 and 2010.
