JAL keeps Oneworld alliance

Japan Airlines (JAL) and American Airlines will jointly apply for antitrust immunity on transpacific routes.

Japan Airlines, which filed for bankruptcy last month, says it will stay in the Oneworld alliance and keep its partnership with American Airlines.
The decision should come as a relief to both the alliance and American Airlines, which offered JAL a $1.4 billion financial package to help the Japanese carrier and persuade it to stay in the Oneworld alliance.
